Carteret-Craven Electric Foundation
Carteret-Craven Electric Cooperative prides itself on its commitment to community, and much of the credit goes to the cooperative’s members and their participation in Operation RoundUp®.
These donations are placed in the care of the Carteret-Craven Electric Foundation Board of Directors, which is made up of 10 cooperative members from across the cooperative’s service territory who volunteer their time to consider grants that will help individuals in need. The board invests the dollars to accomplish a very simple mission -- to improve the quality of life for our members in our communities.
All the money raised goes directly to grants and aid to individuals and organizations that embody the foundation’s mission of “assisting and empowering individuals with resources provided through the generosity of the cooperative’s members.”
Since inception, the foundation has funded many worthy requests from individuals and organizations.
Investing in Our Youth
At CCEC, we are invested in youth education and engagement programs throughout our local community by providing scholarships to college-bound high school seniors and to community college students, scholarships for Touchstone Energy® Sports Camps at NC State University and UNC-Chapel Hill, sending 10 students to the summer Co-op Leadership Camp and awarding Bright Ideas education grants benefiting young people in grades K-12 in our service area.
While these programs focus on education and engagement, they also teach our youth about the cooperative difference and give them the opportunity to see and reach their potential.
