Carteret-Craven Electric Cooperative (CCEC) has launched a new outage map.

The new outage map shows more accurate boundaries of our service area. It also gives members the ability to customize their view by choosing the base map they prefer and the option to add real-time weather data.

Outage Map

When outages occur, a hexagon will appear at the site of each new outage with a number indicating how many members are without power in the outlined area. A red hexagon means the outage has been reported and verified by CCEC. An orange hexagon means the outage has been reported but not yet verified. Blue means the outage has been restored. When the hexagon shows the icon of a person in a hard hat, that means a crew has been assigned to that outage. Click on the symbol key in the top right corner to see information on these features.

Members can get more detailed information about an outage by clicking on the bar graph in the menu to the left of the screen and selecting “outage” in the menu or by clicking on any outage hexagon on the map. From your mobile phone, swipe up on the blue menu bar at the bottom of your screen, click on the bar graph, and select outage. Outage details include when an outage started, the total number of outages, how many members are out of power now and outage totals from the past 48 hours.

Some outages may appear to be clustered together until you zoom in. To zoom in and out of the map on a computer, use the roller on your mouse. You can also double-click on the section of the map where you want to zoom in. On an iPhone, iPad or Android device, double-tap the area that you wish to zoom in on.

Click on the map icon on the left menu to switch between three views: standard, satellite and night view. You can also view the current weather radar. Click on the weather icon to view temperature, precipitation, heat index and wind. To return to ccemc.com, click our logo in the top left corner.
