A solar-plus-storage system is a battery system that is charged by a connected solar (PV) system.

By combining battery storage and solar panels, you have a renewable energy system that reduces carbon emissions and can be scheduled to deliver energy generated by your panels during periods of peak electricity demand, when costs are highest.

If you reduce your energy usage during peak times, you have the opportunity to lower your annual energy costs — without reducing the overall amount of electricity you use. On-peak times are only in effect Monday through Friday.

Be sure to program your storage system to use the available battery power during peak periods.

Off-peak times are in effect all day Saturday, Sunday and the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. When the holiday falls on Saturday, Friday will be observed as the holiday; when the holiday falls on Sunday, Monday will be observed as the holiday.
