In celebration of 30 years of Bright Ideas Education Grants, Carteret-Craven Electric Cooperative (CCEC) expects to award $30,000 in Bright Ideas grants to local teachers during the 2024-2025 school year. Local PreK-12 educators are encouraged to apply for grants of up to $1,250 from CCEC through the Bright Ideas Education Grant Program.
Funding is available for all curriculum areas including art, history, math, reading, science, technology, and more. Educators can apply as individuals or as a team and must include a budget, project goals, implementation plan, and description of how the project will engage students and enhance their success.
Educators with creative ideas for projects for their students must submit their application by Sept. 15. Interested teachers can find the application, along with grant-writing tips and program information, on the Bright Ideas website at ncbrightideas.com
“CCEC and all of North Carolina’s electric cooperatives are committed to investing in education in our local communities and supporting our state’s educators, students and schools through the Bright Ideas grant program,” said Melissa Glenn, director of communications at CCEC. “We encourage all of our outstanding educators to apply for a Bright Ideas grant this year and we are excited to partner with them to help bring their creative classroom projects to life.”
Over the past 30 years, CCEC has issued over $616,000 in grants, funding 814 projects that have benefited over 168,000 students in Carteret County and Havelock.
The Bright Ideas education grant program is a shared initiative of all 26 electric co-ops in North Carolina.
