We are holding close to $1.95 million in unclaimed money, and want to get it back to its owners.

Each year, hundreds of former CCEC members — residents and businesses alike — leave money behind when they don’t give us their forwarding addresses. That money is their share of capital credits allocated to their account when they were co-op members.

If we can’t find the “owners” of the money, after three years we have to give those unclaimed funds to the state. Over the past five years, the cooperative has handed over more than $2.1 million in unclaimed Capital Credits to the Department of the State Treasurer.

We would much rather see that money go to our members and former members, where it belongs. If your address changes at any time, please notify us, so we can get your money to you!

You can search the list of those with unclaimed funds at ccemc.com/CapitalCredits.

If you know someone on the list, contact them so they can let us know their current address. To update your address information, call us at 252.247.3107 or fill out the form at ccemc.com/Unclaimed.

If you move from our service area, remember to give us your new address anytime you move so we can send you a refund when capital credits are retired.
